Event Description:
Camp Tuhsmeheta's Braille/Drama Camp is open to campers ages 7 through high school graduates. Braille makes a blind person literate. With good Braille skills, you will be more likely to get a job and go to college and be successful. We are working to make this week FUN and educational. Games, reading and writing, and practice, practice, practice. We will be producing and recording several short plays. YOU could be a STAR.
Other Information:
Camp Tuhsmeheta is located on 297 acres of ecologically
diverse woodlands near Greenville, MI. Situated on ancient sand dunes, the camp
features mature oaks, beech/maple forest uplands, pine/fir forests, and sandy
barrens. The camp also has lowlands that include both bog and fen systems, and
a stream-fed lake for swimming, fishing, and boating. Hundreds of plant and
animal species have been identified on the camp property. The ecosystem
diversity provides blind and visually impaired campers with an opportunity to
touch, smell, hear, taste, and learn about many elements of the natural world.
