Extreme Makeover Autism Education

The focus of this 3-day workshop is on the needs of students with autism and other neurodevelopmental disorders and how to address the root deficits to ensure the best potential for success in school and life. Participants will gain insights from current research and learn how to apply this research to educational settings. A combination of lecture, discussion, and hands-on small group activities will be utilized to address areas such as modifying communication and interaction styles to promote overall development, structuring the day to meet student needs, effectively analyzing student behaviors, and collaborating with families. Every participant will leave with a personalized implementation plan for their educational setting.
