Day; Business Day; School Day

Day means calendar day unless otherwise indicated as business day or school day. (b) Business day means Monday through Friday, except for Federal and State holidays (unless holidays are specifically included in the designation of business day, as in Sec. 300.148(d)(1)(ii)). (c)(1) School day means any day, including a partial day that children are in attendance at school for instructional purposes. (2) School day has the same meaning for all children in school, including children with and without disabilities. (Authority: 20 U.S.C. 1221e-3)

Deaf-Blindness
|
Deaf-blindness means concomitant hearing impairment and visual impairment, the combination of which causes severe communication and other developmental and educational needs that cannot be accommodated in special education programs without additional supports to address the unique needs specific to deaf-blindness. Deafblindness also means both of the following: (a) Documented hearing and visual losses that, if considered individually, may not meet the requirements for visual impairment or hearing impairment, but the combination of the losses affects educational performance. (b) Such students function as if they have both a hearing and visual loss, based upon responses to auditory and visual stimuli in the environment, or during vision and hearing evaluations.
