Monday, June 08, 2009
The U.S. Department of Education, Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) has issued a determination of ‘Meets Requirements’ of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) 2004 to the state of Michigan. This federal report card reflects the improved systems integration and coordination of efforts of the Michigan Department of Education, Office of Special Education and Early Intervention Services (MDE, OSE-EIS) and its Mandated Activities Projects (MAPs).
This is the third year of federal implementation of issuing determinations to states. The IDEA 2004 requires the annual submission of a state's Annual Performance Report (APR) and a revised State Performance Plan (SPP).
