Adapted Cognitive Assessment Laboratory (ACAL) Announces New Web Site and Recruitment Opportunities

Wednesday, April 14, 2010

Over the last five years, the Adapted Cognitive Assessment Lab (ACAL) has focused its research on adapted cognitive assessments for children with cerebral palsy (CP). Through the ACAL, researchers have effectively assisted parents and educators of children with CP by providing them with accurate information about each child’s cognitive abilities. These findings contribute to promoting appropriate supports in school, home, and community settings for these children and their families.

The content of the new ACAL Web site provides both scientific and consumer-related information. This includes a collection of resources for both parents and professionals, tangible examples of research conducted in the ACAL setting over the years, a portal for subject recruitment, and a lab registry. There is also an email list for those interested in receiving periodic updates about the ACAL, recruitment opportunities, and other related information. To visit the new ACAL Web site, or to sign up for the ACAL Listserv, follow the related links listed below.

The study team also continues to actively recruit children between the ages of 8 and 16 years who have a diagnosis of CP. To learn how to participate, follow the related link listed below.

If you have questions about ACAL or would like to visit the ACAL lab, follow the contact information listed below.
