Learn More About the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP)
Known as the "nation's report card," the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) provides a snapshot of student achievement nationally over the past thirty years, and more recently has added results from individual states. Provisions in the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB) now require states to participate in the program, enhancing NAEP's stature. NAEP scores will also be used to informally validate each state's own assessment results. You can learn more about the report card and how Michigan students have scored over time at http://nces.ed.gov/nationsreportcard/.
