MITS Training Modules

The MITS Assistive Technology Training Modules are designed for presentation as training sessions. The format is a PowerPoint slideshow that includes trainer notes and handouts. MITS Training Modules have been developed to increase awareness and knowledge regarding assistive technology, ultimately leading to improved services to students.

Module PowerPoint Presentations:

Module Includes:

  • PowerPoint presentation
  • PowerPoint Viewer if needed
  • Supplemental Support Documents 
  • Trainer Instruction Instructional notes – included in PowerPoint presentation notes section

Equipment Requirements:

  • Computer
  • LCD Projection System with Speaker
  • Projection Screen

Modules are designed to:

  • Provide training materials specific to assistive technology that will assist school districts in building capacity to provide assistive technology supports and services to students with disabilities.
  • Be presented to parents and school staff, including administrators, teachers, para-professionals, therapists, and school psychologists in informational meetings, training, professional development, and in-services.
  • Be flexible in the time required to present the material.  They can be presented in approximately 1-2 hours or up to a full-day session, depending on the use of discussion points, handouts, or tools.
  • Allow for duplication and creation of handouts.
  • Allow for duplication of CD’s for other trainers in your district.
  • Allow customized and modified versions of the PowerPoint to meet individual needs and time constraints.
