When you call the Visually Impaired (VI) Helpline a knowledgeable and experienced Teacher of the Visually Impaired, Pat Love-Sypho, will assist you in locating answers to any questions and concerns you may have. In addition to specific questions Pat can be a sounding board to bounce around ideas with you.

For example your questions and/or concerns may include (but not be limited to) the following areas:

  • Expanded Core Curriculum
  • Braille Instruction (i.e. literary, music, Nemeth, computer etc.)
  • Orientation & Mobility
  • Independent Living Skills /Daily Living Skills
  • Social Skills
  • Sex Education
  • Literacy
  • How to locate resources
  • Ideas related to Transcribing and Tactile Graphics
  • Assistive Technology
  • Administrative/Special Education Rules

When calling the VI Helpline you can expect to receive a response within two (2) business days. This service is available Monday - Friday with voicemail capabilities. If Pat does not have an immediate answer, she will do the necessary research and provide you with the information she finds.
