Michigan Commission for the Blind
The majority of Michigan Commission for the Blind (MCB) services are dedicated to adults. However, we believe that early involvement with and awareness of MCB programs makes it easier to take advantage of these programs and improve one's independent living skills, self-esteem, and employability. Therefore, we provide the following services for youth:
- The Youth Low Vision Program, which assists students from birth to 26 years of age with the provision of head-borne low-vision devices and low-vision exams
- A Transition Program, which helps students transition from high school to postsecondary education or employment. The Transition Program includes involvement of an MCB rehabilitation counselor in preparing the student's Individualized Education Program (IEP).
